Modelling of HRTF and synthesis of spatial sound

The purpose of this work is to model the head-related transfer function (HRTF) parametrically with as few parameters as possible, so that one can set these parameters in order to get his own best model of HRTFs. Here the principal components analysis (PCA) method and minimum phase reconstrucion is used in developing the model. Some kind of database matching between a listener and a subject from CIPIC HRTF database is applied in customizing the HRTF model. With filtering using individually modelled HRTFs, a mono sound will be presented in the three-dimensional space through the headphone. Analysis of the model and simulation of moving sound are implemented under Matlab.
